Abadeh Rugs

Abadeh rugs are hand-woven in the tribal and nomadic region of south-central Iran, in the province of Fars, by people of Qashqai origin. The town of Abadeh, and the area where most of these rugs are produced, is situated on the road to Shiraz, halfway from Isfahan in the northern Afshar region. The rug patterns are usually geometric with one to three diamond-shaped central medallions and beveled corners inside the main border. Warm earthy red tones, rich browns, and dark blues, with hints of beige are typical.
